My experiences with EME2040 is that it's amazing and includes super fun activities! What experiences I liked in the classroom is all the fun assignments we do and how we could be creative while also following a rubric. I liked assignments like the web design, newsletter design, and to create a lesson plans. I disliked some of the tools we used like Diigo because it was hard to figure out all the tools and I had to use the YouTube videos given to me to figure the assignment out. When I am a teacher, I will use tools like Weebly to create calendars, announcements, resources, etc.  to help improve the classroom experience. This will improve my classroom experience because my students will be aware of all the activities going on in the class and be up to date with everything.  Open educational resources is someone teaching, learning, and research materials that were purposely created  to be free for the user to own, share, and modify.  The open educational res...

Working on creating a website was very informative and necessary for my future career. N ew skills I have acquired from working on the Web Design assignment are first actually learning how to create a website. I never knew how people created websites and now  after using weebly, I can say I am pretty good at it. Secondly, I learned how what embedded a code meant and how to put that in a website. I inserted my Creative Commons in the embedded code and when you click on it takes you to the page with all the information you need to know. I thought this assignment was really fun because we could be creative. I disliked how a lot of stuff was hard to find on the website and there was no help to locate things from weebly. I can  use my website design skills in my future career to create a web page for my classroom with assignments, announcements, contact information, and even parent resources!  https://jenasclassweb....

Pine Crest, a private school in Pompano Beach, Florida, has a section on their school website dedicated to what the lower school classes are learning in each subject.   The kinds of information I see  publically  is grades K-5 explaining the topics they are learning in class. The website explains   Pine Crest's superior pre-kindergarten and kindergarten environment which includes:  A safe and secure campus with 24-hour security, a ccess to learning network service, which provide academic support, e asy access to state-of-the-art, developmentally appropriate playground, f ull-time school nurses and a health office, h ealthy snack and lunch choices in a pre-primary dining hall, s pecial art classes taught in Spanish, c omputer science lessons. The  website also includes workshops for each subject. These subjects include reading, writing, word study, computer science, math, science, social studies, Spanish, arts, and physical education.  https://www.pine...

I just started using  Diigo   for technology class and it was pretty easy to find all the steps to add a  bookmark . I  don't really like the set up of the website cause it looks kind of older and not visually pleasing. There is a lot of words and sentences everywhere and it's a lot of information. I would probably not use this website if I didn't have to. Diigo reminds me of twitter with how the set up is and how it has a blue  background. Even though I have never used this website it was easy to find everything and annotate my articles.  My experience with blogging is that I like the set up and everything is easy to find. I like how I can create bullet points so I can put down all my information. I also like how I can view my friends blog post and can comment on them. I think the website is visually pleasing because you can add photos and have banners on the side. I...

My early experiences with twitter consisted of looking at memes my friends reposted of news that was present at the time. Twitter also consisted of me following my schools football page and keeping up to date with football games and time. I also used twitter to look up tweets from famous people that I liked and wanted to know what was going on in their lives. I found this all beneficial because  it lets you share information quickly and start conversations with your friends . Twitter will be helpful in my future career because it is  filled  with practical tips, breaking news, and networking opportunities, it's a great place to promote your own work and get ideas. As  an   elementary  education teacher, hopefully in the future,  I  can use twitter to  save time, prepare students for tests, keep everyone organized and on top of important announcements. The "digital divide" refers to the gap between individuals, households, businesses and geogr...

I chose SC.K2.CS-CC.1.2 which is the kindergarten level. This standard shows how to conduct basic words into searches and to exchange information and feedback to other students and teachers. I feel very prepared to implement this standard into my classroom because I am very skilled in tools like text messaging, WhatsApp, outlook, gmail, yahoo, etc. I feel prepared to teach my students these skills because mail is used to  easily relay important messages to their students, parents and the school staff . Also, report cards and school assignments can be easily and quickly submitted through  these networks .  I chose MA.2.AR.1.1, which is a mathematics resource for 2nd grade. The resource is to s olve one- and two-step addition and subtraction real-world problems. Addition and subtraction is crucial to understand because it is essential for day to day life. I would teach some of my students addition and subtraction by using websites like Cool Math ...

Copyright means when you  copy someone else's picture, story, song, or other work .  It protects the creator's work from unauthorized duplication or use. C opyright is limited by "fair use," which means  certain uses of copyrighted material or research  may be considered fair. I would deal with these concepts as a teacher by making the students aware of what these things are and how to create citations.  When developing my instructional materials for  class  I will protect my own work by placing a copyright symbol on it or putting my name on it.     Academic dishonesty refers to  committing or contributing to dishonest acts by those engaged in teaching, learning, research, and related academic activities.  Cyberbullying is  the use of cell phones, instant messaging, e-mail, chat rooms or social networking sites such as Facebook and Twitter to harass, threaten or scare someone .      I just started using Microsoft Word during Summer B of this year. During high school, I liked using Google Docs because I could share it with the people in my group and we could work on it together. Since using Microsoft Word I really like it and I think it is easy to use. They're definitely some features I am not familiar with yet, but I am still getting used to it. I have to say I like using Microsoft Word now just because it is easy, everyone at the university uses it, and there are a lot of cool features.     The Leader Educator Standard is most meaningful for me because I think it is very important for e ducators to seek out opportunities for leadership to support student empowerment and success and to improve teaching and learning. It is important for educators to do this because it helps students  shape and advance a vision for  empowered  learning with technology. This also important because it helps students adopt new resource...

Jena Masri Blog Post

My name is Jena Masri and I am from Fort Lauderdale, Florida. I love the beach, reading, and hanging out with my friends. I have 4 sisters, a dog, and a cat. My favorite artist is Drake but I pretty much love all genres of music. I love going to football games and am really excited for Tallahassee seasons because I love the cold!     Starting 4th and 5th grade I was provided a laptop from my school to do most of my work and submit assignments. When I got to middle school I was given an iPad from school and I used iPads up to senior year of high school. I am pretty good at using tools like notability, showbie, and keynote. I have used technology all my life so I know a few things and am experienced.     I regularly use social media as my personal learning network. I look at Pinterest for ideas like halloween costumes, nail art, clothing ideas, etc. I use instagram to communicate with my friends and to share ideas I've learned. I use twitt...
