Blog Journal #5

  • My early experiences with twitter consisted of looking at memes my friends reposted of news that was present at the time. Twitter also consisted of me following my schools football page and keeping up to date with football games and time. I also used twitter to look up tweets from famous people that I liked and wanted to know what was going on in their lives. I found this all beneficial because it lets you share information quickly and start conversations with your friends. Twitter will be helpful in my future career because it is filled with practical tips, breaking news, and networking opportunities, it's a great place to promote your own work and get ideas. As an elementary education teacher, hopefully in the future, I can use twitter to save time, prepare students for tests, keep everyone organized and on top of important announcements.
  • The "digital divide" refers to the gap between individuals, households, businesses and geographic areas at different socio-economic levels with regard to both their opportunities to access information and communication technologies and to their use of the Internet for a wide variety of activities. As schools shifted to an online learning format, many students struggled with it. Due to their lack of access to the internet, they have a hard time doing their assignments because they don't know how the device is used and then have a hard time submitting their work for credit. Some causes of digital divide can be low income levels, geographical restrictions, or lack of motivation to use technology. I may experience students in the classroom that don't know how to use certain tools in technology, so what I will do is help them by contributing a whole day just explaining to the students the tools they should know how to use and how to submit their assignments.
  • Academic Software is a modern workplace deployment solution, where every type of user can access, deploy and license the tools they need through the single sign-on of their institution. Two software tools I will be using in my class is debuggers and code editors. A debugger is a software tool that can help the software development process by identifying coding errors at various stages of the operating system or application development. I would like to use these with my future class because it allows software engineers and developers to fix errors in a program before releasing it to the public. A code editor makes writing and reading the source code easier by differentiating the elements and routines so programmers can more easily look at their codeI would like to use these with my future students because they help programmers shorten development time and code more efficiently.
