Jena Masri Blog Post

 


   My name is Jena Masri and I am from Fort Lauderdale, Florida. I love the beach, reading, and hanging out with my friends. I have 4 sisters, a dog, and a cat. My favorite artist is Drake but I pretty much love all genres of music. I love going to football games and am really excited for Tallahassee seasons because I love the cold! 

   Starting 4th and 5th grade I was provided a laptop from my school to do most of my work and submit assignments. When I got to middle school I was given an iPad from school and I used iPads up to senior year of high school. I am pretty good at using tools like notability, showbie, and keynote. I have used technology all my life so I know a few things and am experienced. 

   I regularly use social media as my personal learning network. I look at Pinterest for ideas like halloween costumes, nail art, clothing ideas, etc. I use instagram to communicate with my friends and to share ideas I've learned. I use twitter to look at news updates and to also learn from people all around the world share their ideas. Finally, I use gmail to communicate with professors and my classmates to understand things like assignments, tests, and quizzes. Social media is a great PLN for me because I get to communicate with my friends, learn new things, and figure out my goals!

    Hey Jena and welcome to blogger! Aww you've a dog and a cat. That's sweet. I love dogs. What kind of a dog do you have?

    Those are great note taking tools and I'm glad that you're good at using them.

    I see that you've listed some social media tools as part of your PLN and you're already learning different things. That's part of how we learn, as well.

    Hi Jenna! What's been your favorite book series that you've read so far? I personally fell in love with the Shatter Me series in middle school.

    Did you go to a private school growing up? My cousins went to private school for most of their lives and so they were provided will really cool technology to use in the classroom too. I've also never heard of notability, showbie, or keynote. Are those resources specific with Apple products?

    I also absolutely love using Pinterest for Halloween ideas. Have you seen anything cool that you're looking into being for this year?

 I just started using  Diigo   for technology class and it was pretty easy to find all the steps to add a  bookmark . I  don't really like the set up of the website cause it looks kind of older and not visually pleasing. There is a lot of words and sentences everywhere and it's a lot of information. I would probably not use this website if I didn't have to. Diigo reminds me of twitter with how the set up is and how it has a blue  background. Even though I have never used this website it was easy to find everything and annotate my articles.  My experience with blogging is that I like the set up and everything is easy to find. I like how I can create bullet points so I can put down all my information. I also like how I can view my friends blog post and can comment on them. Blog Journal 9!!!

 My experiences with EME2040 is that it's amazing and includes super fun activities! What experiences I liked in the classroom is all the fun assignments we do and how we could be creative while also following a rubric. I liked assignments like the web design, newsletter design, and to create a lesson plans. I disliked some of the tools we used like Diigo because it was hard to figure out all the tools and I had to use the YouTube videos given to me to figure the assignment out. When I am a teacher, I will use tools like Weebly to create calendars, announcements, resources, etc.  to help improve the classroom experience. Blog Post #2

     I just started using Microsoft Word during Summer B of this year. During high school, I liked using Google Docs because I could share it with the people in my group and we could work on it together. Since using Microsoft Word I really like it and I think it is easy to use. They're definitely some features I am not familiar with yet, but I am still getting used to it. I have to say I like using Microsoft Word now just because it is easy, everyone at the university uses it, and there are a lot of cool features.     The Leader Educator Standard is most meaningful for me because I think it is very important for e ducators to seek out opportunities for leadership to support student empowerment and success and to improve teaching and learning.
